Job Description
The Town of Wareham's HR office is hiring a full\-time, benefited (37\.5 hours Monday \- Thursday) Department Assistant for the Treasurer's Department. This is a union position. Salary and a very generous benefit package, including paid time off and health/dental insurance (health premiums are paid at 68% and dental are paid at 75%), are in accordance with current collective bargaining agreement.
Education: HS Graduate or equivalent supplemented by courses in office procedures including cash handling and accounting experience. Experience in bank telling and/or bookkeeping preferred.
Responsibilities include: responsible for accepting and verifying cash, check and credit card payments from the public and Town departments; prepares bank deposits; ensures correct processing of invoices; prints, sorts and mails vendor checks; types and processes municipal lien certificates; answers phones and assists residents; similar tasks as needed.
Subject to CORI/SORI, pre\-employment physical and drug test.
