Job Description
This is an opportunity to join Niokem Inc., a fast-growing supplier of chemicals and ores to various industries across the North American market.
Role Description (on-site):
This is a full-time role located at our newly established branch in Pearland, TX. and part of a growing team. The role is very hands on and involves controlling/organising the movement of goods, managing inventories at multiple locations, liaising with our sales and accounting teams, coordinating with warehouses, carriers and other service providers to ensure that Niokem Inc. meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations every time.
Main Responsibilities:
· Coordinating with international freight forwarders to book import & export shipments.
· Ensuring all shipping documents are issued accurately with complete descriptions.
· Monitoring import shipments and sending timely instructions to service providers such as Customs brokers and warehousing companies.
· Negotiating domestic trucking rates between distribution centres and existing/ future customers to maintain market competitiveness.
· Auditing inventories, both physical and incoming, at various distribution centres, investigating discrepancies, issuing weekly reports and sharing all stakeholders.
· Communicating closely with sales and other departments to share important information and ensure our services are always efficient and cost effective.
· Verifying accuracy of all invoices received from trucking, warehousing and other service providers, before authorizing payment.
· Auditing trucking companies and collecting their proof of insurance, prior to approval/ use.
· Being aware of and ensuring that all Niokem Inc. procedures are strictly followed and adhered to.
· Dealing with customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
· Other operational responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the logistics/ supply management field.
· Good working knowledge of logistics operations, warehousing, and general transportation processes.
· Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day distribution operations and inventory management.
· Knowledge of or willingness to learn all responsibilities related to the chemicals distribution industry.
· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced sales/customer focused environment involving meeting targets and problem solving.
· Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
· Willingness to further develop skills under the direct guidance of the supervising manager.
· Reliable and organized team player with solid work ethics, able to work independently, use own initiative and self-motivated.
· Must be computer literate and proficient at using Microsoft Office applications and ideally SAP Business One
