Patient Administrative Coordinator

Job Description

OrthoNY is seeking a Patient Administrative Coordinator to join our team at our Saratoga Office! This role requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. $500 sign-on bonus opportunity when you start before 12/31. Responsibilities • Triage patient calls and provide customer service, as needed, including responding to appropriate patient requests, directing the call to the appropriate person, taking messages or assigning a task to the appropriate person to return the call or follow up. • Maintain electronic health records. • Distribute incoming faxes to the appropriate person within the team(s). • Monitor MRI orders for completeness. • Monitor intra-mail and correspond with patients. • Perform follow up related to past, present, and future office visits of patients for their designated providers. • Complete patient paperwork (e.g., Disability, Worker’s Compensation, Physical Therapy Referrals, work notes, and prior authorizations) as needed. • Appointment rescheduling for provider(s), as needed. • Obtain necessary patient information to include, but not limited to, medical necessity, medical records, medical transportation authorization, home care orders and evaluations, referrals, and Physical Therapy prescriptions. • Respond to incoming tasks/calls from the Call Center/Front Desk to override/accommodate emergency appointments, as well as all necessary patient calls. • Other responsibilities as needed/assigned. Qualifications • High school diploma required. College Degree is a plus. • 1-3 years of experience working in an office setting, specifically healthcare preferred. • Familiarity with medical terminology desired. Familiarity with orthopedics is a plus. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; experience with an EMR is a plus. • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
