Job Description

Direct Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced and results\-driven

Director of Mortgage Originations

to manage all aspects of its residential mortgage\-related sales efforts. This includes HELOC products, Investment and Commercial products, as well as referrals for other additional products within the credit union.  This is a key leadership role for an individual ready to apply their industry expertise, relationship\-building skills, and commitment to remarkable service to drive success for our members and team. Director of Mortgage Originations

 you will:
•

Expand Member Opportunities:

Retain existing members and attract new members in the refinance, purchase, and home equity markets, including investment and commercial products.
•

Deliver Exceptional Member Support:

Respond promptly to all mortgage inquiries, assist with applications, and provide fast, accurate credit approvals to support members’ home\-buying journeys.
•

Cultivate Relationships:

Build and maintain a robust mortgage referral network, establishing strong connections with Realtors, builders, attorneys, and financial planners.
•

Achieve Sales Excellence:

Manage a personal mortgage pipeline and meet or exceed individual and team production goals.
•

Administer Wholesale Lending Program:

Build and sustain a network of mortgage brokers for Direct Federal's residential Wholesale Lending program.
•

Strengthen Commercial Referral Program:

Administer the broker commercial referral program by reviewing scenarios, analyzing profit and loss calculations, and ensuring properties meet our commercial guidelines and financial requirements.
•

Drive Business Development:

Collaborate with Marketing to identify and develop effective marketing strategies, explore new growth opportunities, attend business development events, and provide input on mortgage\-related initiatives and materials.
•

Ensure Compliance and Accuracy:

Stay informed on regulatory and investor requirements, Direct Federal policies and procedures, and industry changes to maintain compliance.
•

Foster Community Engagement:

Act as a community ambassador, leading volunteer efforts and strengthening partnerships with local organizations.
•

Drive Continuous Improvement:

Identify innovative strategies and campaigns to retain members and increase loan originations, while continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven expertise in residential mortgage origination and local real estate market knowledge within MA, NH, and RI.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building and maintaining relationships.
• Business development experience, with an ability to identify opportunities and execute strategies for growth.
• A commitment to service excellence and member satisfaction.
• Familiarity with Freddie Mac guidelines and pricing.
