Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Netverks collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Netverks is a job board for India and the United States, a hiring workspace for employers, and a set of learning pages.

Who this covers

This policy applies when you browse Netverks, create an account, apply for a role, publish a job, or use the lessons, questions, and stories. It does not apply to another company’s website. If a listing asks you to continue on the company site, that company’s policy applies once you leave Netverks.

Information we collect

Account

We collect your name, username, and email address. If you set a password, we store a hash of it, not the password you typed. If you sign in with Google, we receive the name, email address, and Google account identifier that Google shares for sign-in. We email a one-time code to confirm a new account, a sign-in, a password reset, or an email change.

Job search

Job preferences store a role, a city, and a work mode. Your career profile can also include a phone number, location, headline, summary, skills, experience, a salary expectation, a LinkedIn or portfolio link, a resume file, and a cover letter. You choose whether that profile is private, unlisted, or public, and whether a public profile shows your email address or phone number.

Applications

When you apply on Netverks we store your name, email address, phone number, resume, cover letter, how you heard about the role, and any answers the employer asked for. The hiring workspace also stores the stage of that application, interview time, and offer details.

Hiring

If you create or join an organization, we store the organization name, website, locations, the roles you publish, and the people you invite into the workspace.

Verification

A verified badge is optional. For a personal badge we ask for a photo of you holding a government photo ID, such as a passport, voter ID, driving licence, PAN card with a photograph, or another government photo ID. For an organization we ask for business records, such as incorporation, GST, PAN, or the other documents listed on the verification form. Those files are used to review the request. They are not shown on a public profile.

Learning and community

We store lessons you finish, where you left off, bookmarks, quiz attempts, and the stories, questions, answers, and comments you post. If you are not signed in, lesson progress stays in this browser. If you are signed in, it can sync to your account.

Messages you can turn off

We send mail the service needs, such as one-time codes, application updates, and offers. Optional mail includes job alerts and digests. You can turn optional mail off in your account.

Technical data

Server logs may include your IP address, browser, and the page you requested. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. Google may set its own cookies and receive technical data such as browser type and an approximate location. If you open an invite link, we store a referral cookie so the invite can be credited.

How we use it

We use this information to:

• run your account and keep you signed in;
• show roles for the country you are browsing, India or the United States;
• send the mail described above, including a daily job email when you have set preferences;
• let an employer review an application you submitted to their role;
• decide a verified badge when you ask for one;
• keep the site working, limit abuse, and understand which pages are used.

We do not sell personal information.

Who can see it

• The employer, and teammates they add to that hiring workspace, can see an application you send them, including the resume and answers.
• Anyone can see a story, question, answer, or comment you post, and a talent profile you set to public.
• A private career profile is not listed for other people to browse.
• Verification files are available to Netverks administrators who review the request. They are not shown to other members.
• Google receives the sign-in details you approve, and the analytics data described above. Google’s own policy describes what Google does with that data.
• Our email and hosting providers process information so we can send mail and store the site.
• We share information when the law requires it, or to protect Netverks, our members, or someone else from harm.

Cookies and this browser

• A session cookie keeps you signed in and remembers whether you are browsing jobs in India or the United States.
• A security cookie supports form submission.
• A referral cookie lasts about 30 days after you open an invite link.
• This browser stores lesson progress until you use “Reset device learning data” in the footer, or you clear this site’s data.
• Google Analytics may set cookies, as described above.

How long we keep it

We keep account, profile, and application records while they are needed to run the service, including so an employer can finish a hiring process. Verification files are kept for the review and as a record of the decision. One-time codes and sign-in sessions are short-lived. Lesson progress stored only in this browser stays until you reset it or clear site data. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove the details that identify you, unless the law requires a longer period.

Your choices and rights

You can skip job preferences, keep a career profile private, and decide not to request a verified badge. You can turn off optional emails in your account. You can reset lesson data stored on this device from the footer. You can email us to correct your account details or to ask us to delete your account.

India

Where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies, Netverks is the data fiduciary for personal data collected on this site. You may ask for a summary of your personal data, for a correction, for erasure, and to withdraw consent for a use that is optional, such as job alerts, a public profile, or identity verification. Email the address below. That address is also the contact for a grievance.

United States

If you are in the United States, including California, you may email us to request the personal information we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context advertising. Google Analytics measures how the site is used, as described above.

Children

Netverks is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Passwords are stored as hashes. Verification files are stored where the public site cannot serve them. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date. The date at the top is the date of this version.
